Dr. Woods strives to offer the best natural ingredients for its products and works hard to use free-trade and sustainably-produced items whenever possible. Dr. Woods' vision started with their Black Soap, aiming to produce high-quality skin care products sourced worldwide but made right here in the United States. Raw black soap is a unique all-vegetable soap product whose key ingredient is derived from plantain skins, a highly renewable natural resource. The brand also utilizes shea butter, harvested from the nut of the Karite tree, which is indigenous to West Africa (their organic fair-trade shea butter comes specifically from the African Savannah).
